It's clear that I have a passion for nature, and I have been delighted to be asked to work on a project for the fantastic Minstead Study Centre. Many children from schools across the forest have very fond memories of residential trips to Minstead. Children are immersed into the nature of our beautiful Hampshire countryside here in the New Forest, whilst surrounded by gorgeous gardens the children learn about sustainability and how to be responsible towards our very special planet. The grounds at Minstead are really rather wonderful, with a very special feeling of magic and wonder. Here are some of my favourite shots from the day.
Beautiful gardens full of variety.
Fragrant Honeysuckle grows over an archway.
Pretty Poppies growing in the Greenhouse while the seedlings grow.
How wonderful for a child it must be, to sit under the branches of this grandfatherly Oak and listen to stories outside in the fresh air...
Beautiful sculptures by Michael Turner Studios of beasties are tucked delightfully into nooks and crannies waiting to discover children at play.
Clay sculptures made by the children.
Inside the mud hut there is a very serene and calm atmosphere. I can imagine the children feeling safe and cuckooned in here.
Minstead Study Centre is run by Hampshire County Council, but extra funding is provided by The Friends of Minstead. Website coming soon!
