Yoga teacher Dayla, Goes Digital!

 New Website for Daylasana

New Website for Daylasana

Congratulations to Dayla who bravely took a big leap into the world of digital marketing by signing up for a simple - 1-page website to promote her yoga classes in Highcliffe and Dorset. Dayla signed up for a website designed by Jaggerdesign using Squarespace. Dayla has been teaching for many years but is looking to explore meditation classes as well as yoga. As Squarespace sites are easy to update and change we decided that we could incorporate more pages as she grows her client base. I also signed Dayla up with an Instagram site, where she can explore her own creative side. I was very impressed with Dayla's own sketches that she does for meditation and used her own drawing of a dragonfly in her logo.

Dayla's logo was drawn up by selecting a font that I thought best represented her personality, this font is fun, creative and relaxed! and the colours are chosen to represent peace and calm, important in Yoga!

I was also lucky that Dayla was very happy to get into yoga mode on Barton cliff tops for some photos - it took a while to get the right combination of free time and good weather, but we got the sky I was hoping for in these photos.

I was quite pleased to try out using circular images on the website - not as straightforward as it would first seem. I had to create the circular image by using clipping mask in Adobe illustrator - exporting the selection - opening up in Photoshop to edit the background and again exporting as a png file, Somehow exporting a png in Illustrator will not result in a clear background. I can only get this by using photoshop. the file was then uploaded in the usual way and kept its circular shape.

As well as setting Dayla up with a Gmail and a Google account, (her website is linked to Google Console for SEO) I also helped Dayla get an Instagram account and we had time for a quick lesson when I handed over the controls. Good Luck Dayla - Get busy with Instagram as it’s a great way to keep fresh content coming onto your website - keeping your site Google happy.
