What is a CEO Day and why you should have one too.

squarespace web designer uk, Desk in office

A CEO day is when you take a whole day, turn off your notifications, and focus on your own business.

I now take one day a month for admin, recording my progress, consolidating my banking and sending invoices.

I have also decided to take one day a week to work on my Marketing. These are the days I call marketing Mondays. There’s a theory ‘out there’ called ‘The Pareto Principle’ which states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes. So that means 1 day a week marketing my own business!

I need to announce it and notify all my clients so they know that on Mondays from now on I will be unavailable for general calls and enquiries until Tuesday. I will of course be available for any website emergencies, but my phone will be on silent while I either write a blog, create my own social media content, check out my analytics, clear my inbox, organise my diary etc.

The Cat says ‘i’ll make sure she doesn’t do ANY housework…’

For too long I have been doing these things in the evening or at weekends, in an effort to not let it eat into my client’s time, but actually, it’s eating into my own family time and that’s something I need to work on.

I have added an announcement banner on my website, marked Mondays as closed on Google and will endeavour to work out how to put out-of-office on my emails for Mondays only going forwards.

Wish me luck!

Emily
